Kicking off a series of sizzling stadium tours, Capleton will be taking his energetic, fiery performances to the United Kingdom (UK) at three major stadium venues.

The veteran dancehall artiste is set to bring his arsenal of hits to Great Britain, and THE WEEKEND STAR spoke with the Slew Dem artiste about his upcoming tour plus his passion and predictions for the World Cup. The concerts, which will be at 02 indoor-stadium arenas in Brixton, Bristol and Birmingham, will also feature Luciano. According to Capleton, this tour is his musical method of making it up to his British fans for being away from their shores for so long.

“The demand for me is very high in the UK because I hadn’t been there in a long time until recently when I did City Splash Festival and the Reggae Land Festival, and the response was overwhelming. So it’s the demand for Capleton that is taking me there,” he said.

His upcoming performances, plus the promotion of his new album Heights of Fire is more than enough to keep him busy. With the album already No. 1 on the iTunes reggae charts in several countries, including the UK, he is looking forward to showcasing his hit single from the album, Red Again, which he said is a crossover track.

With football fever sweeping the world currently, Capleton too has been caught up in the World Cup, which he said has been very entertaining so far.

“I am a big football fan and have been very tuned into the World Cup matches. I support Brazil as the country with the most black people outside of Africa. They can go all the way because they have talented young players, and if they gel as a team, they can lift the trophy. I also enjoy seeing the fighting spirit of the African teams. If not my team, then France and Argentina have very strong teams, and one of them should be in the finals,” he said.
