Protoje gets personal with upcoming album ‘Art Of Acceptance’
Reggae star Protoje is getting ready to drop new music and fans are already buzzing after the conscious singer announced his upcoming album The Art of Acceptance, set for release on April 17.
Protoje, whose real name is Oje Ken Ollivierre, made the announcement on social media while revealing the album artwork and thanking several high profile collaborators who helped shape the project.
The reggae heavyweight said the album represents a deeply personal journey and reflects years of creative and emotional work.
"The Art of Acceptance isn't just about peace, it's about the raw, sometimes painful work of facing yourself fully, embracing the parts you might want to hide, and then radiating from that wholeness," Protoje shared with fans online.
The artiste revealed that he spent the last three years working on the project alongside producer Winta James, promising that listeners can expect a powerful blend of musical experimentation while still staying true to reggae roots.
Protoje also confirmed that the album will feature major collaborations, including Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Masicka and ShenYeng. Additional guest appearances will come from Jesse Royal and Pressure Busspipe.
According to Protoje, the project aims to balance innovation with tradition, creating what he described as a proper mixture of new sounds while paying homage to reggae's foundation.
The album's artwork, which features desert style imagery and reflective landscapes, was created by artist Shanda Davis, with original photography by Gbox Creative and art direction by The Therapist.
Fans can already secure the project as The Art of Acceptance is currently available for pre order ahead of its April 17 release.
The announcement has already sparked excitement among reggae lovers, many eager to hear Protoje's latest body of work following his consistent run as one of Jamaica's leading voices in modern roots reggae.
